Boring walls.
Our house is filled with boring walls. I dare put a hole in the wall unless its exactly what I want. Spencer helped me out in this department this weekend. He, too, thought the walls were boring so we snagged some trinkets from around the house.
I'm looking forward to the Christmas season so we can deck the halls.
Monday
Pros and Cons
When moving back into our house, we decided to do hardwood throughout the entire upstairs. Spencer loves hardwood and I trusted his taste. So we went with it and there a definitely pros and cons to the wood planks. Here are some ideas I have on hardwood.
PROS: Pretty. Last Longer than carpet. Go with all colors. CLEANER (big one for me). I hear they are a lot easier to clean up children's throw up off of, big plus when you are a mother they tell me.
CONS: Loud. Really LOUD. When I wake up at 5:30 for clinicals, I have to prance around the house so I don't wake Spence up. They are not as easy to clean. I actually miss using a vacuum. Not as soft as carpet when you trip/fall, which obviously is not a problem for me, oh wait. Not as cozy as carpet. You have to buy area rugs, which I love, but they are not on the cheap list.
Despite the cons, I am learning to love them, and the cons are winning at this point. We'll see once I have little ninos running around.
Anyone disagree? Agree?

Thursday
my tabletop, a beautiful girl, and a giveaway.

I texted my friend yesterday and asked her what she was doing around 7. She said nothing.
I couldn't let the beautiful sunny day go. Without any attention from my camera.
So I snagged her for some pictures just for fun. Isn't she stunning.
Don't forget to sign up for the giveaway. Tab on your left.

Tuesday
Instagrm easter.
This Easter combo:
Side walk art.
Photos.
Dying eggs.
Family.
Grandpa.
Volleyball tournament.
El Herraderos.
Missing Framptons.
Lots of family.
Topped off with a spencer hunt.
No not a easter egg hunt.
A spencer hunt.
Spencer had the bright Idea to go hide on his dirt bike at night in the neighborhood.
Sounds fun, right?
Thomas, Juliene, and I were the hunters.
Juliene and I finally found him when we almost ran him over doing Mach 10.
HILarious.
We're good at this whole hunt thing.
Moving home tomorrow.
Will post pictures soon.
We love our new home.
We. feel. so. Blessed.
People are good.
God is good.
Wednesday
cartwheels around my house.
yep. that's right.
we move home at the end of february-ish.
i will still have my books.
but think,
i will be able to balance them INSIDE my house.
woot. woot.
Tuesday
pity party.
while thumbing through pictures to do my annual "year's end" post.
i came across lots of pictures that remind me of my house or yard.
and then i got sad.
but now i'm okay :)
p.s. i love the artist playing. so turn your speakers Up for some ear candy.

Thursday
should be sleeping.
because i am reallll tired.
but my blog is feeling lonely,
and we needed to spend 20 minutes together.
yep, twenty minutes these days is pretty generous.
life has been pretty crazy around these parts.
i' i always say 'life is busy'
but it is.
i' i always say 'life is busy'
but it is.
between family, being sick, school, pictures, fire....
but i wouldn't change one of these.
well, maybe one :)
okay. not one.
it's been a really good learning experience for me after our house burned.
it has made me realize that i don't really need anything in my life other than my savior, the gospel, and relationships.
even though, i think i need stuff. i don't.
it's weird to think about when spencer called me and asked my to come home because 'a fire at the house'
he was ultra calm, as if it was a small fire.
nope. BIG fire. but he was still calm.
it was even weirder driving toward a cloud of smoke and knowing it was my house.
i didn't really want to go there. i just wanted to keep on driving and pretend it didn't happen.
pretend it was a dream.
but i went.
and
it
was
okay.
no spencer inside. no sleeping babies inside.
could've been worse.
blessing counted.
i'll tell you one perk.
i've never really like moving.
but when you have nothing to move,
but the clothes on your back.
it's kind of nice.
no bags to carry.
no boxes to fill.
no food to throw away.
that's freedom.
oh! and that 'distressed, antique' look people go for.
i know how it happens.
it might stink. but your house will for sure look 100 years old.
spencer even said, "our canvas looks cool distressed"
i'm not necessarily recommending this way of going about that.
but, just so you know. there were perks.
people have been oh so sweet.
it's very humbly.
my sister said.
maybe this is part of the lesson.
she said, "It's hard to let people help you,
It's so much easier to give, but I think they are equally important"
she's right.
trials are for learning.
i am so excited for thanksgiving break.
i have lots of crafts in mind.
and hopefully i'll have time to execute them.
so.. if you're bored.
whoever you are.
i always love company :)
i am off to utah to hit some thrift stores tomorrow.
and spend time with my beautiful hermanas.
away
we
go.
R.I.P. Gladys. October 2010 - October 2010
You brought joy to our eyes.
Your life was short.
But it was sweet.
Friday
out with the old. but i love the old.
i always knew my family and friends were amazing, but really? you're too good to me.
i love you all times a million.
hope i can repay you one day.
i have really felt the love and so appreciate it.
and in a few months.
its redecorating time.
who wants to come party with me.
These were the colors in my house before.
And these might be the new colors.
Not quite sure yet.
I sure did love the colors before.
I'll probably have Spencer choose.
He has great taste.
Have a happy weekend.

Wednesday
holla.
i have to make a shout out to bloggers of the world.
i'll admit.
i have made fun of myself {alot} for having a blog.
i have often thought of deleting it.
but, i am SO glad i kept it.
do you want to know why?
because i know the little 'items' and projects around my house were just 'things'
i would blog about these projects a lot that spence and i would work on.
and i sometimes thought it was dumb to blog about them.
now i treasure them. because they bring back really good memories.
you. never. know.
so. i think it's good to (especially for me) to blog about any part of your (my) life.
even if it sconces, bulb chandeliers, or turquoise tables
good news is, my owl really did watch over my house.
she is cleaned up and ready to rock back over there again.
so she can watch the house for us for 9 months.
i'll admit.

Monday
the roof is on ....
well. it's been a crazy weekend.
and I think we would have won, 'best haunted house'
saturday we had a fire.
but when i started thinking of all the things i'll miss.
i ran across this in church,
D&C 30
2 But your mind has been on the things of the aearth more than on the things of me, your Maker.
I regain my focus.
Then I think of my favorite scripture.
D&C 121
7 My son, apeace be unto thy soul; thine badversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment;
8 And then, if thou aendure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes.
9 Thy afriends do stand by thee, and they shall hail thee again with warm hearts and friendly hands.
I then feel better.
And then I count my blessings that no one got hurt.
Because that is most important.
More important than any thing.
(for halloween we were going to be)

i think she's perfect.
for the past while, i've been collecting old bulbs from various thrift stores.
the reason being, i wanted to create myself a chandelier of bulbs.
and not just for christmas.
who says ornaments are just for christmas anyways.
so i finally felt like i had enough bulbs.
and with the help of my beautiful sisters: hailey, lauren, and aubrey.
they helped me put my idea on my ceiling.
otherwise i would still be working on it by christmas.
i love how she turned out.
she's prettier in person :) so i guess you know what that means.
too big? i think not.
what do you think we should call her ??
she is the newest member of our family after all.

Wednesday
free fallin
i was out in my garden tonight picking potatoes
and decided i wanted to make some coasters real quick.
and then coasters turned into a table arrangement
and a table arrangement turned into a tradition i want to start.
i want to leave notes, like the one below.
for my children and hubby to find while eating breakfast in the morning.
so i...
grabbed:
some wood
the saw
old newspaper
paper
wire
ribbon
leaves
and
a
candle.
i am happy with the results.
the coasters are my favorite.
the best part it is.. it was free.
Saturday
fall in my house.
despite me whining about how long class felt yesterday; it was such a good day.
for many reasons that i will unfold soon!
( and no i'm not what you are thinking! )
let me give you a scenario:
1. you love fall
2. but you are a poor college student
3. you go get one of hatties jars in your basement
4. you pick up sticks in your yard
5. you climb on ladders and break branches from a tree
6. and you build yourself a bouquet :)
wait.... that's my scenario
i love it! it is HUGE, even though it looks small
do you like it?

Monday
headboard
headboard is officially done and done.
(other than the buttons in the tufts)
this baby was put on hold for a long time.
and now she is done.
happy with the finished product.
Wednesday
want becomes need.
i have wanted sconces forever.
but the d.i. only ever wanted to grant me one sconce.
and you can't hang just one sconce on your wall.
so i told my sisters of my want. and to keep their eyes peeled.
and my dear sister hailey picked these gems up for $3
sure, they didn't start out as prettiest things ever.
nothing a little $3 can of spray paint can't help.
and voila.
hailey, thank you thank you thank you.
i am very happy with the end result.
even happier that they cost a total of $6.65
carrie, i'm going to hang them next to the mirror we made.
love to you both.
sconces. check.
